Hi All,
Since I posted Threads: The Island on Literotica for you all to read and hopefully enjoy I have been incredibly touched and frankly overwhelmed by the stream of supportive comments and kind words from so many of you over the last 9 years.
Sadly, not long after posting the story I became seriously ill.
I have since undergone over twenty surgeries, been hospitalized dozens of times and been on more medical treatments than I can count.
As you can imagine this had a massive impact on my mental health and I lost interest in any creative pursuits, and I also withdrew from all the friends I had made along the way. And I let this blog die.
9 years on my life is gradually getting better.
At this stage I can't say if I'll ever pick up the Threads stories I wrote so long ago and get them out to you all, but I wanted to say this.
Thankyou for every message, every email, every comment and every forum post asking after me, wishing me well, or sharing how much any of you enjoyed my writing. During those times when I was able to read any of them I was honestly overwhelmed by everyone's kindness.
I can't say what the future will bring, but I will never forget the response of so many of you who read and enjoyed my work.

Welcome back, hopefully you continue to get better. And maybe start writing again.
ReplyDeleteJust remember take the time you need. And if you do write, you can do the next parts in shorter chapters. Say 5 lit pages instead of 42.

time and have my annual fantasy of trying to write some kind of continuance that would be a worthy followup.
So glad to hear you are still kicking out there somewhere. Hope you decide to take up your writing again someday. Threads: Los Angeles and Threads: New York would have been grand.
If not then that's okay and you’ll always be sailing into the sunset on the Betty in my imagination.

ReplyDeleteI wish you the best in your healing. Mindset is everything when writing - I've written a few short stories but if I'm not in that mood, nothing happens.
I hope you get back to a place where you'd continue writing; not purely for my own selfish enjoyment of your work, but also because it means you've returned to a better mental state where you are able to enjoy being creative again, which is much more important then the story itself.

ReplyDeleteDamn. It really says a lot that so many of us keep checking your bio regularly, even after 9 years. Anyway, hope you’re feeling better, and even if you never get to a point you have interest in writing, that you at least feel well and can do what you want.

ReplyDeleteHopefully the recovery goes well! It's just so good to hear from you again. The story has kept me entertained for years. I just read it every couple months because it's such a well written story, it never dulls. After 9 years that must say something. Fantastic your feeling better and enjoy the rest of your life!

ReplyDeleteIt may be rare, but I am a new reader, and I LOVED threads! It took me a while to find this post, and I hope you do feel well enough to write more, but no pressure! It was a great story even if it was only a one-off. If ever there is any continuation of threads I’ll be there but again no pressure just know it will be super supported if you do.
